Known Issue: Trainer App Workout Search and Custom Exercise Display Bugs
Trainer App: workout search doesn't filter results, and custom exercises can show up blank
This is a known-issue article for two separate Trainer App display bugs that trainers have reported: the workout search/filter not narrowing results as expected, and custom exercises losing their name after being added to a workout.
Symptoms
- In the My Workouts tab, typing in the search box does not filter the list of workouts to match the text entered — results stay unfiltered.
- Looking up a client's workouts doesn't filter properly.
- When a trainer creates a custom exercise and adds it to a workout, it initially shows with its name — but once the workout is assigned (or saved), the custom exercise appears blank with no name.
Workaround
No confirmed workaround was found in the sampled tickets for either issue.
- For the search/filter issue: trainers may need to scroll/browse the full My Workouts list manually rather than relying on search until this is fixed.
- For the blank custom exercise name issue: no workaround is documented; trainers should note which custom exercise they intended to use so they can identify it manually if the name doesn't display after assignment.
Fix Timeline
Not known. Both issues were reported as bugs by the submitter rather than resolved in the visible ticket thread — status should be confirmed with engineering/product before publishing this as a customer-facing article, or this should be kept as an internal known-issue note until a fix timeline exists.
Updates
- 2026-08-26: Article created from ticket sample; status and fix timeline need confirmation from engineering.
